To: All Travel Agencies, Airlines and Airport Authorities in the United States of America

In views of the current traveling situation in the region as well as the increasing concerns over the security in global air transportation; the Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston, Texas takes the liberty to issue the following statements:

- Selling, purchasing and using forgery documents are against the laws, impose negative implications on security of transportation, air transportation in particular, and therefore may result in criminal prosecutions domestically and internationally;

- We call on all Travel Agencies, Airlines and Airport Authorities to cooperate in preventing the above-mentioned activities with swift and effective measurements;

- As for our part, the Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam takes the initiative to apply following security measures:

• Closely monitor all travel documents issued by the Consulate General, including but not limited to Entry Visas to Vietnam, Visas Upon Arrival or Landing Visas, Vietnamese Passports, Vietnamese Laissez-Passer etc.;
• Records of persons traveling with forgery documents will be notified to all relevant Government agencies and may be subjected to denial for future visa applications and also for criminal charges in accordance with domestic and international law;
• Issue a new Visas upon Arrival or Landing Visas Form with bar code, sample of which may be obtained by contact our office by below listed numbers.
• Designate a hotline for reporting and verification of authenticity of all travel documents:
